What is Flowframes
Flowframes is a powerful software that uses advanced AI to improve video quality by interpolating frames and increasing the framerate. It works with deep learning models like RIFE, DAIN, FLAVR, and XVFI to make video motion smoother.
What is Frame Interpolation
Frame interpolation is a process where the software creates new frames between two existing ones. This makes the motion in videos smoother, which is especially useful for turning low-frame-rate videos (like 24 or 30 FPS) into higher frame rates, such as 60 or even 120 FPS.
Video Frame Interpolation AI Models
- RIFE (Real-Time Intermediate Flow Estimation): A fast and efficient deep learning model designed for real-time frame interpolation. It creates intermediate frames quickly and smoothly.
- DAIN (Depth-Aware Video Frame Interpolation): This model uses depth information to predict and generate intermediate frames, making it great for videos with complex motion.
- FLAVR (Flow-Agnostic Video Representations): Unlike other models, FLAVR skips optical flow and uses 3D convolutions to directly create high-quality intermediate frames.
- XVFI (eXtreme Video Frame Interpolation): This advanced model is perfect for handling fast or complex motion in videos, generating smooth and precise intermediate frames.

How to Download Flowframes
There are two version, old(free) and latest. The latest version is only available on Patreon. The free version can be downloaded on itch.io. See link below.

How to Install Flowframes
The installer will ask whether to pre-install AI models or not. Don't worry about this, you can still download AI models after completing the install.
During the installation process, it will download some files. Please note that the download will be very slow (at least for me, I don't know why).
After the installation complete, if you want to download the AI models, you can do it from the application settings:
- Open Settings (gear icon)
- In Application section, click on 'Open Model Downloader'
How to Use Flowframes
It is actually very easy to use, you only need to import your video, choose the value of FPS multiplier and start interpolating. You can tweak the settings if you want, though I would suggest sticking to the default.
