Have you ever tried selecting or highlighting text on a web page and dragging it with your mouse, and then the IDM Download panel appears afterward?

There were times when I made numerous changes to the HTML of my blog posts, and the IDM Download panel kept appearing. To resolve this issue, I had to temporarily disable its browser extension.

Why Does The IDM Download Panel or Bar Appear When Selecting Text?

Today, I finally realized what triggers this behavior. It turns out that the download panel appears when the highlighted or selected text contains links. I tested highlighting text without links, and it did not trigger the download panel.

I also checked the IDM settings related to the download panel and discovered a feature that states, "IDM can show the Download Panel on a web page when you select text that contains download links".

Previously, I wrote about how to disable the IDM Download panel on YouTube. I tried to apply the same method on Blogger, but it didn’t work. I should have noticed the relevant settings, as they are located under the same category, but I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention.
